10 WAYS TO MARKET INEXPENSIVELY - PART I

As an entrepreneur and small business owner, or as a sales and marketing rep, you need to be a guerrilla marketer. As a guerrilla marketer, you will want to use various and inexpensive marketing techniques to reach your prospects and communicate with your customers.

For the next two articles, I will give you ten ways to market inexpensively. Here are the first five ways.

1.    Test an increase in price points
  • Communicate benefits to your customers and prospects.
  • You will find that most of your customers don’t actually buy on price
  • Try an increase, but always tell why.

2.    Get on the phone and call your 50 best customers and/or prospects and ask them what they need.
  • The answers will be of great use to expand offers.
  • Go and meet with them and ask for referrals
  • Take your five best customers to lunch this month

3.    Networking
  • Your time is an important asset in marketing as is your money
  • Get out to events, gatherings, etc.
  • Join 2 netwrking events this year

4.    Public Speaking
  • There are groups crying for good public speakers.
  • Try and speak at one event per quarter

5.    Slash advertising budgets by at least 50%
  • Take that 50% and use for low risk tests
  • People become too dependent on advertising
  • If you can’t test your marketing – don’t do it.
